WASHINGTON, DC – S-3 Group announced today that Michael G. Long, will join the firm as a Principal on the Government Relations team. Long joins the firm from the office of the Speaker of House, Nancy Pelosi, where he served as Senior Advisor and Director of Member Services.
Long is an accomplished public policy advocate and strategist with nearly two decades of experience in government, politics and policy. In his role in the Speaker’s office, Long served as the staff lead for the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, and previously managed House Chamber Operations as part of the Democratic House Floor team.
Upon his departure, Speaker Pelosi took to the floor for a moving tribute to Michael’s public service. “To Members of Congress and all who work and serve in this chamber, the name Michael Long is synonymous with excellence,” Pelosi said. “Michael is a coalition builder and a communicator, a liaison and a leader with an extraordinary talent for forging enduring connections within and outside the Capitol.”
Before working on Capitol Hill, Michael was an Associate at Metcalf Federal Relations, a Washington-based consulting firm and was a special projects staffer for the Council of Deans with the Association of American Medical Colleges. Michael is a native of Blanch, North Carolina and a graduate of Elon University.
