Shockey Scofield Solutions (S-3 Group) Announces New Partner

December 20, 2012

Washington, D.C. – Shockey Scofield Solutions (S-3 Group) announced today that Mike Ference, current Director for Strategic Development and Senior Policy Advisor to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, is joining the firm as a partner. Ference has spent more than a decade in government service, including over five years in senior roles for Cantor and previous House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO).

During his tenure in the House Republican leadership, Ference has been at the forefront of several critical public policy sectors including energy and the environment, financial services, telecommunications and hi-tech and internet policy.

Firm founder Jeff Shockey remarked, “Ference is stand up guy and great addition to the firm. So often public policy issues migrate back and forth between the appropriations and authorizing committees and Mike will help us adeptly cover both fronts for clients.”

Mike started his tenure on Capitol Hill as an aide for Congressman Christopher Smith of New Jersey. Before joining the House Whip Team in 2006, Ference worked on the professional staff for Senator James M.Inhofe of Oklahoma.

In addition to Mike’s government service, he took a hiatus from Capitol Hill to return to Pennsylvania to successfully start a small energy company specializing in coal reclamation. As the owner and operator, Mike managed over 20 employees.

S-3 Group was founded in May of 2011 by Capitol Hill veterans Jeff Shockey and John Scofield and currently maintains offices in Old Town, Alexandria and Capitol Hill.
